In 2021, with Covid still shaping live production, I helped reframe the Bookmark Awards 2021, IAB South Africa’s digital industry awards, into a studio-led digital ceremony. It was the second year the awards ran virtually, hosted by Selae Thobakgale, with the Bookmarks Round Table and jury voices still kept front and centre, led by Jury President Andrea Quaye.

Instead of trying to imitate a ballroom event on a livestream, we leaned into what works on camera. A considered studio build, round-table energy, and a clean, modern visual language that let the work, the winners, and the commentary carry the night. I led the creative direction from concept through to execution, keeping the experience sharp, elegant, and genuinely watchable.
